At the intersection of sound, art & science
“It is essential for society to preserve the integrity of the sounds with which we surround ourselves and to preserve and foster the finest examples, i.e., the epitomes of sonic arts. Otherwise the quality and richness of life quickly deteriorates.”
sub_bar academy is a music course based on subfrequencies instead of sound. over 72 hours, our participants will learn how to compose and perform using this new creative medium, both individually and in groups, choosing between a variety of hardware and software instruments. we are launching an open call for hearing-impaired and deaf people (18-40 years old) to join our program in Lisbon, Berlin and Vienna. previous experience in music or art is NOT required and we will provide sign language translation.
We believe that art, sound and science are not only linked but dependent on each other. Many divergent fields and paths in life are connected, so bringing these fields together and converging their ideas is a big part of what Eufonia is all about.

Explore and learn about the history and legacy of electronic music through “Music, Makers & Machines”, a new interactive online project launched today by Google Arts & Culture supported by YouTube, in collaboration with Eufonia.
An interdisciplinary analysis around rituals, in the search for a necessary continuity between individual and collective, archaic and contemporary, entertainment and transcendence. This work is the testimony of a social practice that has always been there, evolving, adapting and surviving.
Through qr codes placed in public places of the cities of Lisbon and Berlin, you can access on your mobile phone, sound creations that connect the urban landscape to your hearing. At each point, you will find the narrative that an artist developed for that place around one of the themes 'memory, fear, rhythm, freedom, and health'.
