LARGHISSIMO is a selection of sound installations and artists curated by the interdisciplinary platform Eufonia in collaboration with the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences (IA).
Time becomes an object for interdisciplinary reflection between art and science. A wide field necessary for an open investigation of different possibilities and performance of emerging multimedia artists. Arara, Atelier Francesco, Matthias Dziwak, Rijk Kruijer, William Primett, come to cross their sound narratives, inhabiting spaces through dynamic, interactive and multisensory bodies.
The complex definitions of the Cosmos have recently and ingeniously been confirmed in the eyes of the scientists, after an invisible black hole collision in 2015 was captured through its gravitational waves. With this discovery, also the Life on Earth and its Inhabitants changed for a second. The distance between us became wider, time became slower. And back again, hundreds of times within a second, at the atomic level: our everyday life clock ticks, the chemical reactions of our metabolism, our thoughts and our aging. Space-time was shaken, detectors could “hear” it vibrate as the waves passed through Earth. We are now aware of it as never before – we are inside of it, shaping and being shaped by it.
