SOUND CIRCUITS 2021 - LISBON
Sound Circuits 2021 is an innovative project inspiring reflection on the social dynamics of Lisbon’s public spaces, including sound installation, sound walks, poetry, music and more.
Eufonia is proud to present the second edition of Sound Circuits, taking place between November 12th and 14th, in Lisbon’s public spaces.
The first edition of Sound Circuits took place in October 2020 in germany and portugal. This pilot project involved more than 50 local artists and 7 cultural entities. The idea came from the need to avoid physical proximity between the public in times of covid-19, providing everyone with safe and free access to Culture, and generating revenue for the artists who were somewhat affected by the situation. Now we feel the need for an update: it's time for Sound Circuits to leave the digital world and become physical, dressing the city with sounds and ideas.
This year 9 sound installations and art interventions will approach different public spaces - all within a 2 km radius of Martim Moniz - a real cultural crossroads in the heart of Lisbon. Each artwork is original and site-specific: Sound Circuits tells the story of its city piece by piece through the eyes of its creators, offering different points of view and thus suggesting not only a dialogue between the artist and the viewer, but also between the city and its inhabitants. certain works of Art do not speak only to an Elite capable of interpreting the narrative of its elements and symbolism: some works of Art are so beautiful and simple that they touch everyone, with the innocence of a mature observer. This is why Eufonia - and consecutively Sound Circuits - emphasise diversity and talent when selecting artists and works of Art.
